I think it does both. When you buy online, obviously, they have to ship small amounts of medication to you instead of large shipments to a pharmacy where you can buy it so it is an inefficient shipping manner. Also, they end up having to use more packaging and ultimately more space for shipping so there’s that toll on the environment. Negligible things like server space, Internet infrastructure and such are necessary to run a website and have their own carbon footprint. If you are able to find cheaper medication, however, I like to think that it is a little chip away from the pharmaceutical companies’ stranglehold on Americans and business. They are far too powerful and are incredibly wasteful and anything to decentralize their power a bit I believe is a good thing.
