Although human breathing does release carbon dioxide, it does not cause global warming, per se. In the natural cycle of life, there is a reciprocal relationship between people and plant life. People breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants and trees use that carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis for growth, and in turn, release oxygen that we can breathe in. It’s a combination of human produced green house gases and more extreme naturally produced green house gases that have really accelerated global warming. People were around for thousands of years before global warming became an issue (since the late 1800s). And they were breathing the whole time.
