Does the black smoke that comes out fo diesels hurt the environment?

Yes it most certainly does. It has CO2 in it which is a greenhouse gas, and the fact that we are producing soo much of these types of emissions adds up to a situation where the earth’s atmosphere is trapping more heat in it than it should be, more heat than it has for eons of time. Diesels are polluters fo sure! (It is easier to produce diesel fuel though, so at least they have that going for them…)

The black smoke that is emitted by diesel fuel also is likely to contain Volatile Organic Carbons (VOCs), which can readily react with nitrogen oxides during the day in order to form ozone.  Ozone is a major component of smog, photochemical pollution, and is harmful to human health.
