Newly constructed LEED certified buildings may incorporate different sytles of architecture to ensure energy efficiency, however it is not necessary to have a different structure to be a LEED building. There are also LEED programs for existing structures, to help building owners/managers reduce energy consumption and waste.
Not necessarily. I live in Los Angeles right now. And trust me, there are some VERY ugly LEED buildings here. They look very plain and boring. Trust me. They can look really green and cool, but they can also look like a tan box.
