Almost all types of renewable energy cut back on green house gas emissions. This is because they are harvesting energy from natural sources the earth provides rather than burning fuels to create energy. The burning of these fuels, usually coal, oil, or other fossil fuels, release CO2 and other green house gases that renewable energy does not.
