There is a some wiring that does not have copper, but it is not common to find that. Around 1970 and past, copper prices went up due to a shortage in supply (this is known as the Rhodesia crisis) so some people began using aluminum wiring. However, aluminum breaks/wears down fairly easily so it is not used much anymore. Copper is used for 93% of the wire market, and the rest is aluminum. You might still find some aluminum wiring in old electrical systems though.
