Does the alignment of stars affect our oceans?

No, the stars don’t directly impact the tides, just the gravitational attraction of the moon and the sun. “When the sun and moon are aligned, there are exceptionally strong gravitational forces, causing very high and very low tides which are called spring tides, though they have nothing to do with the season.”

The stars are used by humans to navigate on the ocean, so there is an effect in that sense, but modern navigation tends to be gps heavy. My father used to teach star navigation and it was an esoteric art… that is people learned it because they were into the art of it, not the practical application.
