According to Fair Labor Laws created by the Department of Labor, children in all states must be at least 14 years old to hold a job. However, they do not place an age minimum on certain jobs including delivering newspapers or being in a television show or movie. Each state is also allowed to set up their own child labor laws as well. Most states do allow children to hold a job by the age of 14, but require extra documentation for them to do so. Some states, such as Nevada, allow children to work even earlier. Different laws apply for children working in agriculture.
