No, most places accept envelopes for recycling. Traditional moisture-activated adhesives are best. Products with pressure sensitive adhesive, like the new peel-off stamps, can cause problems. However, I can’t find any place that won’t accept items with PSA. It’s best to check with your local sanitation department.
Due to new technology, envelopes with plastic windows can be recycled, too. Not every place has it yet. Again, check with your local sanitation department.
