Hmm, it’s not easy to find a definitive answer to this. My research has led me to believe that there are more muscles in your hand than your foot, although my sources are somewhat dubious. Keep in mind many of the muscles that operate your hands and feet are not located inthe foot or hand per se, but in your lower leg/calf region and in your forearms. Actually, if you consider the mechanics of each appendage, it would make sense that there are more muscles in your hand than in your foot. Think about the dexterous activities you can do with your hands verses the relatively simple movements we can achieve with our feet.
