Yes. I think the next world war could be fighting for water or fuels. The finite natural resources can not simply meet the demands of the growing population and consumption. Those with the resource will start to protect it fiercely, while those without will fight for it, creating conflict. A past example: the most recent war fought by the US may have been motivated by the need to gain possession of a scarce natural resource, fossil fuel.
