Alot of gas stations already have diesel for trucks and other types of vehicles which use it, so I do not think its an infrastructure issue when it comes to the effectiveness of diesel hybrids. Maybe if people were rewarded for using diesel (incentivated, maybe the government subsidizes it to make it siginifcantly cheaper than gas) then people would be more willing to pay the extra money it costs to get a hybrid car.
