Yes, I do think so. Richer nations usually have larger populations. Larger populations means a large demand for water. Wealthy nations also have a big infrastructure (buildings, roads, parks, etc.) which require a lot of water to maintain.
Yes, I think so. Richer and more developed nations use more energy and water in general. Also, I did a little research and found out that richer nations pay less for water, whereas poorer nations don’t. I think this is an interesting situation; I personally didn’t know this. Poorer nations privatize their water resources, increasing the value and therefore reducing access to the people. I think this is another reason why poorer nations don’t use as much water as wealthier nations – because their access to clean water is limited.
