Viral marketing and online communication has been successful for spreading the word on many things, i.e. business marketing, research etc. There are of course various weather reports on Google, MSN, Weather.com, but there is some potential in spreading the word on real-time weather information through mass communication systems like tweeting.
I think it will prove to be of little use. You won’t get much of information from tweets aside from mentions of rain or snow. It is also unreliable for several reasons: tweets aren’t necessarily true, do not arrive evenly over time, and cover only certain areas with imprecise locations.
