I think that the popular media has both helped and harmed this cause. Movies like “The Day After Tomorrow,” and even documentary films like “An Inconvenient Truth” have made the importance of this fact seem more “real” to others. At the same time, we’ve become so desensitized by the media, so people might think of these like all other fiction films. In order to make the importance of this issue sink in, I think it will really take us appealing to others’ love for their children and the generations that will come after them.
