Based on the results after his state of the union speech, Americans (at least the ones watching him speak) feel that he’s got the right idea on alot of important issues. Moreso, Obama (and his stance on the enviroment) makes America a more popular country globally, an important value for all diplomatic processes in todays global world.
I don’t think his stance on the environment is hurting his popularity. I think, however, that his lack of progress on climate change may disaffect some people. However, these voters likely feel he is better than the alternative, and will not vote against him on election day.
