At the moment, yes. It isn’t as expensive for places with access to natural reservoirs like Iceland. And while a place doesn’t need a natural reservoirs to use geothermal energy since the entire earth is heated, the system necessary for making cracks to bring this heat out it too expensive to be used commercially. Some countries are investing in geothermal anyway though but worldwide I think it will be a while before we see a lot of geothermal energy being used.
