In my opinion, yes. Most Americans prefer to use traditional cars because for them it’s more convenient and reliable. In addition, Americans love their larger automobiles like SUVs, even in this shaky petroleum economy. I think the problem with EVs is that it’s not evolving to a more sophisticated mode of transportation within a reasonable price range at a fast enough rate. It’s difficult to ask for a good EV that can be large enough to fit many people, affordable, and sophisticated. There’s also a concern over the method of refueling an EV. All of these issues accumulate and as a result, Americans perceive EVs to be unrealistic for them to use on a day-to-day basis.
