Do you think the environment is going to be a bigger issue for voting in the future?

It is almost certain environmental issues will be a growing concern for voters throughout the world. As populations grow and resources become more scarce environmental issues will have to be dealt with not just by governments but also by individual citizens on a daily basis. Candidates for public office will find it necessary to include environmental policies in their platforms to seek election and issues may soon go to referendum. The U.S. government, through the Udall Foundation, seeks to mediate conflict over environmental concerns through the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict. An example of environmental issues in international affairs is the debate over nuclear power in Germany as provided in the second link.
