As the United States Departmen Of Energy has authorized a total of five exploratory leases for wind farms off the shores of New Jersey and Delaware, it’s not as if the U.S. isn’t trying. However, in Ontario alone there have already been fourteen proposed Wwind farms projects as they relate to the Great Lakes, mostly due to the fact that the Province of Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources lifted the deferral on applications. So while the U.S. may catch up in the future, Canada is definitely in the lead at the moment.
