    While biofuels seem like a very green alternative energy source, they do come with some risks. Many experts fear that an increase in the usage of biofuels could cut into the food production around the earth. Since we already have a difficult enough time getting food to the majority of the world, taking the crops that we can already grow and using them for fuel instead is not a very efficient idea. The world’s population is growing exponentially and researchers fear that the growing of crops will not be able to keep up with population growth, let alone lending portions of this food for alternative usage. That is not even mentioning how the prices of food will increase as the demand increases, leading to even more starvation worldwide.
