Yes, you still need to clean waterless urinals. Their lack of water does help in reducing the odor and bacterial growth. However, it is recommended that you keep them properly clean and maintained. One site says that they do not need to be scrubbed every night, but wiped down with a neutral cleaner or disinfectant. Then once a month it should be “flushed out” with a cleaner and water. The liquid sealant and trap cylinder should also be changed out regularly.
