Do you lose some volume of air when you breathe?

Volume is the amount of space occupied by objects. When you breathe you are extracting the oxygen from the air that you are breathing in. The oxygen goes throughtout your body and is absorbed. When you exhale you are breathing out the air you inhaled, minus the oxygen your body used. This numerical change is not measured by volume, but rather mass. Air cannot be measued by volume because it can be compressed into almost infinate space.
