No, but to burn pellets you need a pellet stove which runs on electricity. There are new and efficient wood stoves designed to release less carbons in the air. Pellets are good for the environment because they are wood by-products, such as sawdust, and did not end up in a landfill. If you can get pellets nearby then you would also save carbons used to transport pellets a longer distance.
