There are several different species of whale, and different whales have slightly different diets. Baleen, Humpback, and Blue Whales eat mostly krill. Other species eat plankton as well as other marine life.
Humpback, Blue, Bowhead, Gray, White & Minke Whales eat a combination of Krill, plankton and small fish, but there is no way of telling how much of what, since it varies from feeding to feeding.
Beluga Whales and Sperm Whales have teeth and eat fish, octopi and/or squid. Orcas and Narwhals eat the same, including small marine mammals. Narwhals, however, only have two teeth and don’t use them for hunting or eating.
