do we use spiderwebs for anything in medicine?

Spider webs have been used for centuries as wound dressings, for they help the blood to clot.  Modern research now shows that spiderwebs can be used in the regeneration of the ACL ligament, a very common injury among athletes.  Several experiments are being carried out that are testing the use of spider silk as fine sutures for fragile areas such as the eyes – but it is not in use as of yet and still requires more research.
