Do we use recycled tires in road filler?

Yes.  Rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) is made from recycled tires and has been used since the 1970s as an alternative to traditional road paving.  It is much more durable and withstands cracks better than normal pavement.  To resurface a mile-long segment of a one lane road, as many as 8,000 scrap tires are reused to pave the road.  That’s 8,000 tires not going to a landfill!
