Do we raise quail like we do chicken for food?

Quail are not raised to the extent that chicken are, but there are quail farms.  Quail eggs are very popular in some countries, and they are raised sometimes exclusively for their eggs.  These farms are much smaller than factory chicken farms, and are more likely to be organic, as well as treat the birds humanely.

Yes, Quail are raised in this country much like chickens, however not nearly in the same quantity or capacity. Quail are raised in large netted pens, much like pheasants. Most people raising quail utilize them for hunting purposes. A select few use them for meat and eggs which have become a delicacy in many gourmet dishes. Unlike the domestic chicken, quail can be found in the wild.
