Do we need an environmental crime fighting team?

L.A. has established The Los Angeles County Environmental Crimes Strike Force to be the eyes and ears of the community when it comes to environmental crimes. Members of this strike force concurrently assess health risks, mobilize regulatory agency involvement, and obtain evidence for criminal prosecution. Not only should each community have a similar strike force, but a national and international force should be set up as well.

We currently also have the EPA in the United States, which I’d consider to be the police of any crime-fighting superhero story: professional, hearts in the right place, and completely outclassed by the sheer scale of the amount of crime they have to fight.
