silk is made mostly in asian countries
Silk has been produced all over the world. The mulberry silkworm, which produces most of the filaments, is native to China, other parts of eastern Asia, and south Asia; it does not survive in the wild. Other producers today include Brazil and Romania. In the US, Patterson New Jersey was once a silk center, but today synthetic products (nylon etc) in the US compete with natural silk.
