It is likely that a person learns more about nature in earlier grades. Since the science component of the curriculum in earlier grades is mostly focused on nature and biology and in later grades is taken up with more advanced topics such as physics and chemistry, you are likely to learn more about nature in early grades given the same percentage of the curriculum dedicated to science.
I think you learn about nature in different ways in high school as compared to in elementary school. Elementary schools might focus more on experiencing nature and learning what the different parts of nature are. In high school, the students can handle more complex concepts like how different parts of nature interact and coexist, as well as what makes them chemically and physically. The scope is different in these cases. The difference is between having a big sweeping introduction to nature and getting into the details of nature.
