Geothermal energy is no imported because it is a source based energy. Geothermal energy involves using the Earth’s own heat, from hot water, or drilling down to the core to heat water, then power generators. Unlike oil it cannot be extracted and moved, otherwise the heat would be lost.
“Geothermal energy” is just used to create electricity, the same as that generated by burning coal or natural gas, or from hydropower or wind or solar. It is sometimes misused, as “nuclear energy” is misused to suggest other things – but they all just make electricity which can be transmitted (including export/import) subject to the limitations of transmission systems.
