It would be a good idea. Organic food contain 1/3 the pesticide residue that conventionally grown fruits and vegetables contain due to chemical drifting from other farms and contaminated soils.
Yes! Especially if you are buying it from a grocery store. Lots of people pick the produce up to check it for ripeness, etc., transferring germs and bacteria from their hands to the food. Furthermore, in the case of leafy greens, dirt can get into the crevices, which can make for an unpleasant texture. While organic produce hasn’t been exposed to pesticide, it has still been exposed to bacteria and fungus in the soil. As well as bugs and crawly things!
