Do we get our hopes up too much about these green conferences, if nothing happens we feel discouraged?

I think hopes have been raised in anticipation of these conferences because they have gotten results. In fact, I’d say that one of the main causes of their success has been the high expectations of the public. Kyoto is a flawed system, and one of the biggest flaws is that the US is not currently a signatory, but the only way it will be strengthened and the US forced to join is if the public keeps its hopes, expectations and pressure up for the upcoming conference in Copenhagen.
