It is not unheard of for many people, particularly those in the south and mid-west to eat raccoon, possum or just about any other little critter. Small game constituted easy prey in the American Wilderness, and one had to take advantage of every opportunity. Soups, stews, pies and other dishes can and are all cooked using just about any meat you can stick in there, from squirrel to alligator.
