Do washers use more energy than dryers?

No not really, your dryer is one of the most energy consuming appliances in the house – when it is running. The one that uses the most all the time is your fridge.

“Other high-energy usage household appliances include ovens, microwaves, water heaters, automatic dishwashers and stove tops. Generally, the home appliances that are used to create heat (or in the refrigerator’s case remove heat) use the most energy.”
