Acne causes have been linked to dairy and meat in the diet, but there is no evidence that vegans tend to have clearer skin than non-vegans. Unclear skin is most likely from a combination of genetics, skin type, sun exposure, stress and medication, or other diet related issues. For example, even mild soy or dairy allergies can trigger breakouts and damaged skin.
I haven’t really noticed that specifically. However, vegan diets do have many unexpected benefits so it wouldn’t surprise me. Many vegan skin care products are great, though! Lush clearly labels their products if they’re vegan — they’re a little expensive, but are all-natural and fantastic.
