Do trees make pollen?

Yes, trees do have pollen and they need the help of mother nature–and bees–to spread it. It can also be very hard to avoid if you have allergies, simply because they release so much of it and it travels so far.

Oak trees produce pollen that is bright yellow and will stain the ground, cars, and sidewalks.  Each spring, there is a period of time when these little pods are the cause of many allergies.  News stations will report on specific pollen or allergy percentages to alert viewers.  Cedar is also a leading cause of allergies seasonally due to pollen increases.
