Do sturgeon do well in large lakes?

Generally, sturgeon such as the lake sturgeon dwell in larger rivers and shallow areas of large lakes.  While lake sturgeon were seen as pests and numbers were knocked down in the early 1800s, they are still surviving.  Some of the known spawning areas are in Lake Huron and Lake Erie, two of the five great lakes.
