do spiders have good eyesight?

Despite their eight eyes, spiders don’t usually have good eyesight. Their senses of touch, taste, and vibration are much better. Spider eyes can usually only detect changes between light and dark. Some cave-dwellling spiders have no eyesight at all.

A few spider species do have good eyesight. These include jumping spiders, wolf spiders, and net-casting spiders. Spiders that hunt tend to have better eyesight than those that build webs.
