Do supplements that speed up your heart rate have long term damage to your heart?

Many supplements claim to boost metabolism, and this is often accomplished in part by increasing a person’s heart rate. Because people seeking to lose weight may have other health issues (high blood pressure, high cholesterol or other heart conditions) there are inherent dangers of speeding the heart rate–especially without exercise. Even caffeine can have long-term effects on the heart as it elevates both heart rate and blood pressure.
