Do solar water heaters heat water fast enough?

Fast enough for who’s needs? No…seriously: They are completely functional, but remember, how well they work, and how fast they will heat the water, is completely dependent on the intensity of the sunlight… They still work on cloudy days, just not as well. This is cool though; some (or all, I’m not sure) can be used as a supplement to help a regular Hot Water Heater do its job. So when there is enough direct sunlight and the solar water heater unit will do the job completely by itself it will, but if there is a need for more juice, the standard water heater kicks in and it gets the temperature back up to where it’s supposed to be! Cool, huh?
