While no causal link has been established, a study conducted last April evaluating the cost of California homes with and without solar panels found that houses with solar panels generally resold for more. The study analyzed data from houses resold between 2001 and 2009. The study found that on average, the price increase was about 3.5%, usually enough for sellers to recoup the initial cost of installing the solar panels.
