I don’t know that they publish estimates of energy usage, but they do consume a fair amount. Their workforce requires buildings and energy to do their work. Servers consume a lot of electricity and are made from intricate electronic parts that require a lot of energy to make. And if you count all the time and computer energy that people spend on these sites, energy use goes way up. However, there are some good things that Facebook can do for the environment, by way of Green facebook groups and applications.
