Do shell fish need moving water to breed?

Shellfish (molluscs and crustaceans alike) are sexual beings. Meaning they reproduce sexually. They really only need one another to reproduce. After molluscs reproduce, the babies attach themselves to fish and catch rides elsehwere, where they drop off and continue the cycle anew. Scientists last year tried adjusting peroxide levels in the water to see if that would induce shellfish reproduction, and it seemed to work, though tests are still on-going.
