Seals are carnivores; their diet mainly consists of fish, shellfish and squid. As far as I know, there is no evidence of seals preferring to eat vegetation.
Seals are carnivores and stick to krill, fish, squid, and other marine life. Most seals life in cold climates where vegetation may be scarce. There is an exception; Hawaiian monk seals live in– you guessed it– the Hawaiian Islands. While they do not eat vegetation, the Hawaiian monk seals use vegetation as shelter from storms.
