Most saw mills sell off their saw dust to farmers to use for bedding, construction companies for making particle board, manufacturers to make wood pellets. It has actually become quite lucrative since prices have recently gone way up, putting saw dust at $50 a ton which is double what the price was last year. During colder months saw mills can use the saw dust themselves to heat the mill’s furnaces and run the kilns that dry the wood.
