Do rocks always grow?

Rocks are not grown, rather, they are made up of many minerals that have accumulated from the Earth. These minerals are then lithified, or somehow held together by some sort of matrix. There are three types of rocks: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Igneous rocks form by volcanic origin or in other words from deep inside the Earth. Sedimentary rocks form by compression by water action and metamorphic rocks are baked and reshaped. The rock record shows Earth’s history from the very beginning, billions of years ago, and likewise will continue to do so for the present. Rocks will always be forming as new minerals form and become linked to each other.
