Do red dear bugle like elk?

No they do not bugle at all. Instead they vocalize more with roars and grunts. You are more likely to hear these calls in the wild during the rut (peak of mating season for deer). Often these roars are emitted in attempt to display dominance over other stags during a fight or to avoid a fight. Calves can produce high-pitched squeals to alert their mothers, which could sound similar to the elks bugling, but it is not the same thing.
