Do radio stations need to use a lot of energy?

It’s not possible to give you a precise answer because so many variables are involved AND you have not defined what you mean by “a lot of energy.”  “A lot of energy” in comparison to what?

However, here are some factors to consider:

How big is the radio station?  Different radio stations are different sizes.  A radio station that has a wide listening area will use more energy to send out its signals farther than a local radio station with a limited listening area.

Then there is the actual, physical building itself.  It needs energy in the form of electricity for heating, air conditioning, lights, computers and other things.  The bigger the building and the more employees, the more energy it’s going to use.
